Vanilla OS is a Debian-based immutable operating system built on a cloud-native architecture, that consists of an immutable host system and mutable subsystems, aiming to provide an obstruction-free Linux experience for people around the world.

This talk is intended for Debian contributors, Linux desktop users, and anyone interested in immutable or cloud-native systems. We will explain why Vanilla OS chose Debian as its foundation, introduce our approach to reproducible builds, compare ABRoot with other immutability technologies, and present community-maintained images built with Vib (Vanilla Image Builder).
